Dogs for Good Careers

We’re Dogs for Good. We help people build connections with dogs that can make everyday life possible — in so many ways. We know the powerful change that these connections bring about for individuals, families and groups who find the world around them difficult to access. Through carefully matched partnerships and tailored training and activities, they can build the confidence to live happier, healthier and more independent lives.

Accessibility and Adjustments

If you're a person with a disability or medical condition, you require reasonable adjustments to support you during the recruitment process (e.g. attending an interview) and you'd like to chat to us before making an application, please email people@dogsforgood.org. There's also space on the application form for you to let us know this is something you need.

Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

Equality, Diversity & Inclusion matters! It fosters innovation, strengthens teams, and creates opportunities for everyone to thrive. We'll never discriminate based on sex, gender, sexual orientation, skin colour, ethnic background, disability, physical or mental health – or anything else. We embrace EDI to make sure there is fair access for all candidates, to attract diverse talent, and build a workforce that’s reflective of the communities we serve. We’re striving to create an environment where every individual feels valued and supported to succeed.

Recruitment Process

  • When you send us your application, all personal details on your CV and application form (including your name, date of birth and location) are anonymised until we shortlist you to join us for an interview. This means that during shortlisting, the focus is on your skills, experience and general suitability for the role, and any potential for bias is removed.
  • Whether you are shortlisted for interview or not, we aim to get in touch within 5 days after the closing date (or within 5 days of your receiving your application, if there's no closing date) to let you know. If you aren't shortlisted for interview, we can't always guarantee that we can provide detailed feedback, but we will do our best.
  • We want to make sure that you can fully prepare and bring your best, most confident self to your interview. To do this, we share our interview questions (and/or question themes) with you in advance - we want to make sure that everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed. We'll also let you know the names of who you'll be meeting with and their role at Dogs for Good.
  • Our first stage interviews are normally held on Teams and are generally in a panel format with two or more Dogs for Good employees, but it does depend on the role and the location. We'll make it clear on the role profile what interview format applies to that specific vacancy.

The format of the second stage varies depending on the role, but it could involve a short presentation, a skills assessment or another panel interview. As with the first stage, we'll share everything you need to prepare in advance and make sure you have all of the information you need.

  • If we decide to make you an offer of employment, we'll contact you with the good news and follow up with an official offer letter.
  • If we aren't moving forward with an offer, we'll still get in touch and let you know. We'll also give you our feedback.

The Promise

Our culture is underpinned by The Promise. This is our promise to our community, to the people we support and to the dogs that we work with.

Seek To Understand

We see each other, every person and dog we work with, as an individual. Not a label, not a resource, not just a hero or a helper.

Make Positive Connections

Positive connections make life feel possible. And every small connection builds trust in a bigger possibility, in a more mutually supportive and enabling community.

Respect All Needs

We listen and see the needs of each person and every dog to give the best outcomes.
